Being a Star Trek fan from that first show back in the 60s, I am saddened by the cancellation of Enterprise. However it had to happen some time. I liked all the versions, and watched them all. My favorite being Next Generation.
I'm sure this wouldn’t' fly, but it would be interesting to start all over again with TOS, with new actors, more up to date technology, and special effects. Someone would have to buy the franchise from Paramount, and in spite of Enterprise's poor ratings I doubt they would give it up, at least not cheaply. It would be nice to see it show up on the Sci-Fi channel some day.
Just a muse here. I've always thought that if the show progressed beyond the 24th century after "Voyager" and beyond the transporter system would become the primary way to get anywhere including just moving around inside the ship. Get rid of doors, hallways, turbo lifts. When someone is to move to another part of the ship they just touch a trans port button on your uniform and state your destination and zap! Your there. Of course that gets rid of places for people to converse, and advance the story line, like talking in the turbo lift on the way to the bridge. I doubt writers, and directors would go for such a thing.
