Why do you clim that 'extremists have hijacked both parties' when only ONE party has interfered intrusively and tried to over-ride the rights of the individual AND the powers of the courts. Only ONE party has taken a stance contrary to the medical, scientific and legal facts in this case. Only ONE party has invoked meaningless jingoism like 'culture of life'. ONE party has had their most powerful members slandering the husband in press conferences (Delay and his remarks about Mr. Schiavo).

While some Democrats have followed the 'Me-Too'ism that has defined their party and gone sheepishly along with the conservative right, for the most part this is a conservative agenda linked to the Right To Life movement.
