There has been plenty of corruption within the military industrial complex. Lockheed had the worst history of them all before it became Lockheed-Martin (Martin Marietta was relatively ethical). Boeing's recent misconduct was pretty much par for the course (Historically, Boeing was one of the more ethical companies). The government doesn't need to prop up aerospace companies with bribes. That process has been achieved through busy-work projects like the ISS and other pointless activities connected with the Space Program. Given that there are now only two large aerospace companies (Lockheed-Martin and Boeing), one could argue that not enough aerospace coroporations were supported by the government. The lack of competition within the military industrial complex may ultimately cause more harm to national security than mere bribery and feather beding.
