I think it's safe to say the left here has warped themselves enough to believe that unless someone says "I love Saddam. He is a great guy!" they can't be in support of the man and his regime.
As usual such intellectual dishonesty is what allowed the UN to perpetrate the Oil for Food scandal and for Belgium, France and Germany to profit from Saddam as well as 10,000 different companies around the world. They all claimed not to be supporting him either and wanted "sanctions to work"! Yeah I bet they wanted sanctions to work! Work right into their pockets.
They all hate Bush for bringing their corruption to the light. And the left here are, as usual, silent about how wrong they were about the UN and Saddam. ALL of you lefty poster children were screaming "Let the UN do its job!" "The UN sanctions are working!"
Sure they were! Into leftist corrupt pockets.
You guys were ALL a bunch of Saddam defenders, even when he was still in power and his dark deeds were still buried with the corpses in the sands of Iraq.
"He wasn't involved in 9/11" the whine went. Raoul shed crocodile tears for the violation of "international law".
Now you're involved in rewriting history and claiming you are all patriots.
It's laughable.
Even now, you're all involved in pro-Saddam-ism. Whining about the war, counting casualties, crying about quagmires and acting as if life was better for Iraqis when Saddam was in power.
That's ok. You can all tell yourself you're patriots, you love our military and that you aren't a bunch of Saddam ass-kissers.
That won't make it true though, any more than the corrupt, bribing corporations and Euro nations claiming they believed in the UN to resolve Saddam's activities, knowing full well Saddam had them all by the balls and their own corrupt activities.
None of you have a leg to stand on. That you scream indignant tells volumes already. My earlier post, as was Gary's, were throwaway lines.
The reaction and outrage are caused by GUILT.
You're all guilty. You supported a corrupt UN and hate that Bush defeated Saddam quickly. You've been atheistically praying for quagmire to redeem your lack of judgment and acuity.
We on the right are compassionate conservatives...we understand.
;-)
If, at night, you dream of buried Iraq children, rising out of the sand pointing their dead fingers at you in accusation....just tell them you're a patriot and you supported the UN. They'll say, "Oh..ok....and sink back down into the sand where you helped bury them.
