Irrationality must be an even greater comfort

That was quite a gallery of Bowserisms, Techie. And thanks, it reminded of some of Bowser's most commendable character traits.

You see, you ninny, what you documented was a person who may or may not be misinformed, but is most vividly and forcefully a person with strongly-held moral convictions who is not afraid to speak out. I admire that in Bowser.

I wonder if you can get it? Let's take your first example, That's not a bad question. In this post, Bowser makes a variety of accusations about the Bush Administration that, if true, ought to outrage any civilized human being. And Bowser certainly dares to speak out about what he truly believes is injustice and wrongdoing and, indeed, betrayal of the United States by its elected leaders. In others of the examples you so helpfully linked, Bowser is furious because he believes that Bush's strategy is dangerously wrong and will lead America to disaster. Try and follow me here, Techie: Bowser is warning of what he believes is a danger to America. Can you say "Paul Revere"? Nice try. Now, doesn't it make sense, when you think about it, that if Bowser really wanted to harm America, he'd keep quiet about that? Think about it for a minute, the words aren't going anywhere.....

You're a pistol, Techie. For God's sake, man, Bowser is expressing patriotism! He absolutely wants the best for America and he's outraged that we're not getting it.

How dare you imply that Bowser is anything less than a highly moral and highly courageous person? How dare you question his patriotism?

If you think that loyalty to Bush has anything at all to do with loyalty to America, you're the one betraying our country. Read my lips: Bush is not America. I pledged my allegiance to America, not whatever asshole happens to occupy the Oval Office at any given time. If Bowser (or I) think America needs protection from that asshole, then we're damn well obligated to say so. Got it?

I wonder if your grasp of the concept of patriotism has improved even an iota...why do I bother? Well, it was good for me, anyway, thanks.
