OK, so in 1997, imagine that Al Gore is in an automobile accident that sends a friend (and major lobbyist/donor) of his to the hospital, in the ICU for a few days in fact.
Gore's office says nothing, until 24 hours later the owner of the ranch (and major lobbyist/donor) the VP had been visiting gives a local paper a story that totally exculpates the VP, and downplays the injuries to the friend. The VPs office continues to say as little as possible to the press.
You are telling us, Tom, that that The Right wouldn't have made a huge issue of it? You wouldn't have had American Spectator and the Washington Times suggesting a coverup? Demands for an investigation from Congressmen Barton and Rorabacher? A tell-all book from Regnery Press in a few months? And the same howls of protest at the lack of information from the regular media?
Hell, even in the Cheney case some of the first posts on FreeRepublic took the opportunity to go off on how the Clinton covered up the suicide of Vince Foster in 1993, proably because (according to most Freepers), they actually murdered him.
Where are the hatred, paranoia, and lack of reason again? Ahh, a disease of the Left, that's right.

- Can you imagine Tom and the other neocons reaction had it been Clinton pulling the trigger?
- You don't know the half of it out there.
- Even if a Democrat had done it and the press coverage was identical they would be whining...

- And if it were you instead of Cheney
