I hope you're right about Iran, Tom. You'll notice that Bush didn't explicitly say the reports we're false, just that they we're "wild speculation". I don't see any substantiation in your claim that Hersh "makes a lot of things up".
The administration and military have denied this at all levels. In fact, they have dismissed any talk of imminent military action at all. But hey, that doesn't make much of a story, does it?
And finally, if there were a plan to make a nuclear strike, would they admit it? "Yep, Hersh caught us. We strike on the 20th." Again, this isn't proof of the opposite, but it doesn't help the case you're making either.
