re: From the looks of it, it's going to be an either/or situation.

If Iran tries, and/or succeeds in nuking Isreal, then a good portion of Iran will cease to exist- the action and the retaliation will both be tragedies... If you look at my postson this topic here - they have all been about the silliness of using nukes as purely tactical weapons....

If Iran uses a single nuke on Isreal, the VAST majority of dead will be people that had nothing to do with implementing Isreal's policy towards the Palestinians or the muslim world... when Isreal retaliates by vaporizing most of Iran, the vast majority of victims will be people not actively involved in causing Isreal harm. In both cases there will be many undeniably innocent children killed and maimed...

IF we must have war, then it is best we keep it conventional...

A one Mt 'bunker buster' will have VERY widespread effects on civilian populations anywhere down wind for 100's of miles. They COULD easily kill 100's of thousands, and yes maybe millions based on where they are used.

If the cause is justified then you wont find me protesting the use of MOABs as fast as we can make them (Away from civilian populations... I did not have any problem with their use in Afghanistan- didn't we use them in Tora Bora? I have NO problem vaporizing our true enemies)

But to cavalierly suggest using nukes without thinking about the innocents that will die- well, that is just sick...
