The ruling

At the time, I recall you being -- well, "outraged" at the ruling is a little strong, but something in that vein. I wasn't, and still am not.

The object of those holding the majority opinion was to compel the states to reform their own laws. The ruling had a ferocious bad effect on the plaintiffs, for which I'm sorry, but ultimately the result will be better.
