I received a "Postcard" from a friend of mine. He spoke of the current situation in Iraq in such an eloquent and succinct manner that I thought it worth repeating for the zoner's benefit.

<Its about time to accurately identify the nature of our difficulty in Iraq. It's a Tar Baby.<br>

Although President Bush and his Eminence Gris, Karl Rove, have finally admitted "soto voce" that the reasons advanced for the intitial invasion of Iraq were totally erroneous, they have never-the-less found valid and defensible reasons for the action. Although these reasons change with the seasons, the dynamic duo continue to urge us to "stay the course."<br>

What this reall translantes to is we have a tar baby here and we don't know how we can let go---so, "stay the course.">
