"If the new government we've installed asks us to leave, it's going to be hard to say no. In my typical wishy-washy liberal fashion, I see good reasons for both staying and leaving, although I tend to prefer the latter. I suspect the insurgency is picking up their attacks now because they DON'T want us to leave."

I believe the insurgency is "picking up their attacks" because we have the sufficent intel to locate them and kill them. I believe that insurgency doesn't sit around and then decide to "pick up their attacks" because of some plan. I believe the insurgency would like to sneak around, quietly threaten Iraqis, threaten them, kidnap them, ect. I believe that insurgency is *mostly* trying to stay as far away from coalition foces and Iraqi soldiers as they are able.

I believe that insurgency looks for weak areas [with no or few security forces] and exploit these weak areas. In other words the insurgency are first and foremost cowards, they recruit suckers or force people through threat or deception to be suicide bomber. Or pay for kids to plant IEDs. I also think the insurgents are mentally impaired in some way- either because of drugs or because they naturally stupid. The proof of this is I have yet to see a smart terrorist- and there has been numerous reports of them taking street drugs.

If they were slightly smarter, they would realize that they not going to go the heaven and that the US miltary or Iraqi miltary is going to kill them, especially the middle management and higher management.
