You tell me you're tired of people telling you how to live and run your life, but three quarters of your communications to this science forum are about telling people how you think and why they should think that way and why they shouldn't think some other way.

You're almost there. The above is called "argument." I tell people what I think is the right way to do things, and they either agree, disagree, or tell me to go take a flying leap at a rolling doughnut. And they do it without fear. Argument and discussion are what reasonable people use instead of guns. I don't bring force into it anywhere.

The other route is when somebody decides that instead of convincing someone to do something, there should be a law passed that forces them to do it that way, and there's way too much of that out there in the real world.

Sorry if it seems like I came down too hard on you, but you're the one who hung "Nazis" on the far end of conservatism. You should see the crap I've gotten here for even mentioning Marxism in the same breath with the American Left.

I really don't want you to leave this board, so from here on in, I'll let certain things be instead of arguing them. It's advice I've given to others, I suppose I can take it.
