I find that most people who discuss the NSA program have no real idea what it involves, what the technology is about, or how it actually works. A more accurate "fish" metaphor would be someone that watched huge schools of fish that were swimming between here and foreign waters, and picked out the ones that looked like barracudas to single out for further investigation. Nobody is killing anyone, and paranoid fears that someone "might be abusing" the technology is not proof of a crime.

I suspect the courts will sort this out. I do know the current judgment isn't getting a lot of respect in the legal community.

BTW, before we get cocky about Democrats, remember who threw the Japanese into internment camps, along with which California attorney general, and under which U.S. attorney general the FBI went after Martin Luther King.
