As predicted, the Iraq aggression has destabilized the entire Middle East. It's looking as if now Iran will emerge both as the military power in the area but in control of Iraqi oilfields through the religious commonality in the two areas.
Bush & Co. has to keep supporting an Iraqi government which will honor the contracts forced on it by Bush. And that doesn't seem to be happening.
So, due diligence would have shown ANYONE that Iraq did not have WMDs or nukes. Would have shown al-Qaeda wasn't an issue in Iraq. Clearly, the US cares not about democracy in the area, or any area.
Iraq is worse off under Bush than Saddam if quality of life is considered, if the number being murdered, tortured and maimed is considered.
Iraq is worse off, the Middle East is worse off, the US has or will spend up to 2 trillion dollars, Americans have lost more people than on 9-11. Afghanistan is a hopeless mess, and OBL is still free.
What are the conservatives using now to excuse this "preemptive aggression", to excuse the continuing involvement in something which has been such an unmitigated disaster?
