Your post consists of assertions and opinion followed by a single question that asks what, not why.

What are the conservatives using now to excuse this "preemptive aggression", to excuse the continuing involvement in something which has been such an unmitigated disaster?

Without conceding for one second that your invective and adjectives are accurate or appropriate, our unsatisfactory situation in Iraq is due to piss poor planning and blunders by Bush and company. Not an excuse, a reason.

Better planning and a better man might have been more successful or even chosen another path. Nevertheless, nothing offered up on your side of the aisle gives me an iota of confidence that the liberal boobs that Bush defeated would have provided a better or safer world for us.

For all their pissing and moaning, liberals may be hard pressed to field a candidate that can win the WH in 08.

If liberals want a shot at running the country they should find someone that can find their ass in the dark using both hands. I might even vote for that person.
