Dedicated Leftwinger?

I think you are real determined not to support any moderation of the Republican party which suggests you are a rightwinger or a leftwinger not wanting to loose the independent votes that put Democrats in power last election. Your McCain will say anything line is not supported by any evidence you have provided. It was already pointed out there is a big difference between refusing to attack someone and tacking whatever stand he wants you to take to get elected. You haven't produced any substantive example of an issue flop by McCain to get elected (whether or not Falwell is an ass is not a major campain issue for McCain becuase he is not in office or supporting McCain). Show me a major contribution from Falwell to McCain preceding his comment and then I'll get pissed about that issue.

It's pretty damn simplistic to look at a number rating. If that is based simply on a percentage of vote in alignment with whatever group you choose to represent conservatism, it does nothing to measure willingness to buck party leadership on key issues except obviously for those with low ratings. McCain has been on the outside on campain reform, more troops for Iraq, and criticizing deficit spending, as well as worked on other major issues with moderates. Two of the three examples I listed are not likely to win him disfavor with conservative groups yet do buck the current Republican momentum.

Finally, since I don't look for conservative groups to do my thinking for me I have no idea how rightwing this group you listed is. Again try actually addressing issues to demonstrate your point.
