all the allegations the conservative loonies came up with about Bill Clinton arranging the death of Vince Foster. What made that outrageous and the idea of the current administration capable of such misdeeds has been the pattern of political offenses and possible criminal dealings that there is direct evidence of. In Clinton's case it was things such as shady financial deals, infidelity, lying under oath about infidelity, sexual impropriety. Never did you hear any allegations of real physical intimidation of anyone. (There were allegations about his sexual pushiness with women he sought but never was there any indication of physical abuse and most claims never made it anywhere) His administration didn't have international organizations looking into war crimes allegations for torture and abuse of combatants. Republican opponents simply weren't dying or falling ill during politically opportune times.

Now let's look at this administration. It launched what many consider an illegal and unprovoked war resulting in much death on both sides. It brought about policies that give approval for torture and indefinite incarceration for enemy combatants in a war that seems to have no end. This administration has lied and manipulated intelligence and appears to have outed a CIA agent with possible deadly consequences to the contacts she had established throughout her career. Absurd cronyism has been demonstrated in the political appointments this president has made and often those resulted in deaths and loss due to the incompetence or neglect.

When phrases come out of the mouths of leaders such as "If you're not with us you're against us" it certainly makes one wonder just how far that mentality goes. This "war on terror" has proven to be a deadly game. It can easily be imagined that a politically opposed US citizen would fall into the "against us" arena and be fair game for the same consequences traditional enemy combatants face.

There has simply been so much absurdity in the conduct of government recently that I would no longer put anything past them. I also wouldn't put anything past the remaining supporters of such idiocy. For them to still be able to rationalize this abherrant behavior indicates to me their powers of rationalization put them into the same category as the citizenry of aggressive regimes of the past that allowed their leaders to do inhuman things in their names.
