You are entrenched in your beliefs...and anything I will add will only aggravate you...I have seen it before with you.
These are my reasons for stating that the medical field needs to be held accountable, also...
1)I was diagnosed with Penicillin allergy in 3rd grade by my pediatrician. When I got married and requested my medical records, NOWHERE was it written that I had the allergy.
2)When I was 32, I had trouble breathing and was extremely sleepy. I called my Dr. to see if I could see her...and they said it would be a few days before I could get in. I grew steadily worse by the hour. By mid-afternoon..I called again and asked for a referral. They got upset with me, but conceded to see me that day.The Dr. greeted me with a "What IS the problem!!??"...I had a fist sized cyst behind my heart.
3.)My husband, 4 years ago was MEDICALLY DIAGNOSED (by a Dr.)with sciatica. He went to a chiropractor who noticed something terribly wrong, and refused to treat him...he said it was something circulatory. Pain grew worse. Went to hospital emergency room....diagnosed with extensive blood clots of the left leg/groin. Hospitalized for 3 weeks.
4.) Same year, my husband went to Dr. for hearing problem/pain.. Dr. flushed ear out...saying he had debris in it. Husband went to specialist when pain never subsided.
Diagnosed with possible cancer of the ear. Luckily it was a benign cholestiatoma...has required 4 surgeries...and reconstruction of inner ear..has 40% hearing loss.
5.)About 3 years ago, husband had severe back pain...Dr. ordered X-Ray...showed nothing...diagnosis:..deal with it. Fired Dr. went to new DR....who ordered MRI...he had a herniated disc.
6.)2 years ago....severe back pain again...went to emergency room....diagnosis: Kidney Stone (we also asked the Dr. to look at a sore on his sternum...diagnosis: infected pimple)....Husband grew worse...went to Dr....husband does not have kidney stone..has Pulminary embolism and pneumonia. Pimple on his chest?...Staph infection.
7.) Shall I mention the over medication (prescribed by Dr.) and the subsequent ulcers in his mouth? Dr. said.."NO WAY..not possible"...we looked it up in The Pill Book, and it was a side effect.
Shall i mention the medicine prescribed for me that gave me a migraine?..Called Pharmacist and he said it was NOT a side effect. I looked it up in The PDR. and 50% of people who took this medicine suffered from migraines.
The pregnancy test I had at a clinic that came back negative....(I was exposed to chicken pox so I was relieved..)....Had a feeling, so went back 3 days later for another test..POSITIVE....and 8 months later a 9lb. 9oz. boy
My nephew was turned down for open heart surgery at Johns Hopkins because he was too high risk...Ever wonder why Johns Hopkins success rate is so high?...They only take cases that they know they can "cure"...BTW...my 16 year old nephew died.
My sister-in-law was 9 months pregnant when she noticed a foul smelling discharge and a fever?.(on a Friday)...Dr, told her to go to bed and call back Monday?....
Actually, I have more instances....but this is getting laborious.
All I meant form my fact based statement was that the Medical field is fallible ALSO...(and one must become their own health care champion..)..as a result I am VERY apprehensive of the health care profession.....NOW.....and they, too MUST be held accountable.
Go ahead, Yeti....let me have it.
