I used to teach science here in the Bible Belt, so I know what a pain Fundies can be.
The problem with Fundamentals is that they, 1. Are not listening to Christ’s message, and 2. Are adding stuff to the Bible that is not there (like saying the Earth is only 6000 years old. I have asked them to show me where in the Bible it says that. I also ask them to show me where in the Bible does God explain exactly how he made man- they can’t. Its not there.)
That is why I like my Methodist Church. We understand that God doesn’t care if you think the Earth was made 6000 years ago or 6 billion years ago. Or that God used Evolution to turn that dust on the ground into Man, or poofed us into existence by twinkling his nose. That is not what is important. What is important is to believe in Christ. All those other things are trivial, and the Fundies spend too much energy fighting over such trivial things, and they loose sight of Christ message.

- Bit my lip
- Life is far too short to have to deal with such people
- What kind of people send their kids to religious schools anyway?

- To be fair...
- I don't think that's unusual.
