re: History on Iraq

Some clarification: What I'm blaming Democrats for right now is attempting to sabotage the war effort and ensure defeat. I can also blame some of them for supporting the war and then trying to weasel out of it. There are Democrats who have been consistently anti-war from the start, and frankly, they're having a much easier time facing their constituents right now than the weasels are.

As far as the "stay the course" myth, this is valid only so far as "stay the course" means "win."

I have tracked what has actually been going on in Iraq, and the tactics and methods have altered, often drastically, with changing and unexpected conditions. The main policies in Iraq have changed drastically at least twice since the war started, responding to things on the ground that didn't go as expected, not counting the most recent one. The simple-minded crap you're being fed by Democratic politicians and the media is not accurate.

I'm amazed by how thinking about war has been warped in recent years. Our nation has never fought a successful war that had "exit strategies" or "timetables" that, if not met, would signal quitting in the middle.

...the erosion of our world reputation, the emasculation of our military, the strengthening of our enemies, the contempt of our allies, the bleeding of our treasury, and the polarization of the country.

Read it right off their list, didn't you? I've addressed each of these memes before, and won't do it again here.

I can't express this too bluntly: Most of the information Americans are getting about this war is coming from people who very badly want to see it fail, and will put forward any piece of information that aids that.
