I've already commented on most of the rest in past posts.
The new strategy in Iraq does seem to be working, but I suspect a full-bore terrorist attack will coincide with the fourth anniversary of the war's start, and we'll see what happens then.
Iran and Syria have nothing to gain by a success in Iraq, and everything to lose. Talking with them basically just kills time. If the evidence from the U.N. negotiations with Iran isn't enough to prove that point, don't know what would be.
Pakistan is a real problem. Musharaff is demonstrating for all of us how well negotiating with terrorists works.
