Bowser is on record as opposing almost every action that has been taken in the war on terror, both military and otherwise, including the invasion of Afghanistan.
I'm waiting to see how the Smart People would have done things. The Smart people who don't like clamping down on our borders, non-military methods of tracking terrorists and their finances, small-scale special forces attacks, or seemingly, pretty much any action in three-dimensional space to try and deal with our enemies.
The obsession with Iraq misses the main point, which is that we are dealing with a new kind of enemy and a new kind of war. Every damn thing we're dealing with in Iraq we would have seen in Afghanistan if we had never come close to Iraq. The political battles. The sectarian/tribal wars. The influx of terrorists to face the Crusader. Afghanistan is larger than Iraq, and has a greater population, and the terrain is a lot worse. Yet somehow, I am supposed to believe that if Al Gore had just dropped our 150,000 troops in there, the place would be paradise by now.
The war against America goes where America is. No matter where that is. You don't want to deal with that, because as long as Bush is the enemy, you're on steady ground.
I am not going to pretend that things are going smoothly, but your side has absolutely nothing to offer in this situation, any more than it did during the latter years of the Cold War.
