As with my theory on homogenous cultures, the reality of violence is more complicated than just the drug situation, but I believe ramping down the ineffective and largely futile "War On Some Drugs" would be a step in the right direction.

There is no rational reason for treating marijuana any differently in the legal sense than alcohol. Either both should be legal, or both prohibited.
