I have never smoked marijuana, but I have known several who have. I have even breath in second hand smoke from them (I hate the smell of that stuff).
I am afraid that making it legal will tell young people, “the government says it is okay for you to smoke it,†so more kids will get hooked on it.
I know that is how I was with alcohol. When it was legal for me to purchase it, I thought I was doing nothing wrong. But there is something wrong about getting drunk, and if alcohol had been illegal, I probably would have never tried it.
And yes, I still enjoy whiskey, rum, tequila, beer and wine from time to time. (I don't drink enough to get drunk. I'll get sick before I can get drunk- thanks to the Native American blood in me. Native Americans have a hard time digesting alcohol).
Would I smoke marijuana if it was legal? Probably not, but I hate the smell of the stuff and smoking has always been a no no for me thanks to my parent’s teachings. I tried a cigarette once in college and for a short time I smoke a few cigars.
