Newsweek puts Bush approval at 28%
After holding steady in the mid to low 30s for quite some time, the approval numbers seem to be moving (we'll need to see several polls over several months to see for sure). This may be evidence of a errosion of support among the 'hardcore' right- the association of factions that have for religious fundamentalism or hawkish reasons have been the core of Bush support.
Such numbers probably won't move the white house, but Congressional Republicans may find themselves isolated, without a viable political ally or identifiable power base. Should lead to some interesting congressional politics.
