How do we see ourselves? How do others see us?

This came up with some friends recently and it was a very interesting excercise. I assume and hope that we all have a somewhat positive self image. Completely forgetting about what we look like, what persons personality, that we would all probably recognize, do you believe that you project?

If anyone has ever told you who you remind them of, was it similar or quite different from your own self image?

Obviously there are changes over our lifes span but in the last decade or so I have always felt that I am kind of a Andy Rooney type. I was somewhat amazed that my wife and several of our friends insist that my personality is spot on, Mandy Patinkin, the guy most recently on Criminal Minds, the FBI show about serial killers.

I don't see this as being anything positive or negative since it has nothing to do with appearance. I don't look anything like Andy Rooney or Patinkin and I doubt I share their politics. It's just an interesting thing about how you come across vs how you might think you do.

Hard to do on the internet but remembering that it has nothing to do with age, appearance or politics only personality projection, here are a few as I see it, just for fun.

SDAI - David Carradine

Fox - Will Rogers

Robert - William Petersen

This is just off the top of my head and once again it has nothing to do with physical appearance or politics. Just my impression of personality based on public persona. Before I try to do any more I will wait to see how it is received. :)
