I was talking about both.

Yes, men should have the discipline and self control to better keep their sexual urges in check. This means staying away from one night stands and cheap thrills. Many unwanted pregnancies are the result of such one time trysts, and alcohol is usually a factor in such scenarios. This is also a major factor in the spread of STDs, many of which condoms offer little or no protection against.

With that being said however, I do feel that the greatest burden does fall on the female to prevent pregnancies. She is the one that will have to carry the child to term. She will have to deal with the physiological changes that it will cause to her body. She will have to be the one going through the pain of childbirth. She will be the one who's body is affected by the aftermath of a pregnancy. She will also be the one who risks having a dead beat father who will not step up and do his duty as a man. In this not too uncommon scenario, it will be her life and future that suffers as a result. Creating life is an awesome power, and one that holds great promise and rewards, but with that power comes a terrible responsibility. By engaging in the act that leads to creating life, people should give it some deep thought and be prepared for the possible consequences.

This is one reason I've come to despise those in the media that use the allure of sex to line their pockets. They seem to get an enjoyment of pushing the boundaries by pushing sexual images on younger and younger audiences. Take a look at what passes for children's programming these days.
