So you have something against freedom of association and self determination?
When the colonization of space begins, it's going to be made up of all sorts of different people and groups. Their reasons for leaving and setting up shop elsewhere are going to be as varied as the stars in the sky.
That's the great thing about having a frontier; it's like a breath of fresh air for civilization. People of like mind (no matter what mind that may be) are free to strike out on their own and build a new home for themselves. I see nothing to fear from that...unless you're a control freak.
