I imagine a future where there are many thousands of societies spread throughout the solar system. IMO, the future of space politics will closely resemble that of ancient Greece. Independent city states, each with its own unique cultural and political flavor. People who don't choose to fit in with one society can freely board a transport and migrate to another colony.
The ability to uproot and move over the next hill or to another valley to begin life anew is one important safety valve our modern world is sorely lacking. There are no new frontiers to explore and start over and create a new society in your image, but space is a boundless clean slate.
