Your disdain for religion or anyone with an open belief system shows you to be someone who is somewhat narcissistic.
>"I don't believe our personality or our mind is separate from our brain. I don't believe in a soul or spirit which can exist independently of a physical substrate, [of] organic tissue. I think of the mind as a form of software, but it needs hardware to run on. "
I'd have to disagree with you there. Our minds/personality/soul is encapsulated as energy and it can only be transformed. You were here several months ago when I recounted the dramamtic dream of an old high school girlfriend who appreared to me vividly in a dream 36 hours after her death, coming to say goodbye. Her software was gone, so was her hardware, so how could I pick up on her?
What about my other high school girlfriend I dreamt was having a baby one morning. (Hadn't talked to her in 15 years), yet when I managed to call her mom, she had JUST had a baby girl that very morning? Obviously my software is picking up on their hardware.
You'd like to think you're all alone, and that's all there is, but YOU exist outside time and space as somewhat of an individual......or soul, so to speak. All of us do.
>"The mind interacts with the universe solely through the body."
Wrong. It inter-acts through CONSCIOUSNESS and the frequency relationships that are available.
>"And calling it "energy" or "force" or "power" or "fields" or "waves" doesn't make it any less than magic."
Just because you don't understand how it works and only now are certain doctors and physicists giving it intellectual structure, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Obviously there are no psychics in your family.
"It's been downhill ever since."
