Going by the actuarial tables and knowledge of my habits and history, and barring the unexpected, I have about another twenty years of life left in me, of which about half will be in a physical state where I will be unable to pursue the interests and activities I want to get involved in.
I also know my last 20 years went by in a flash, so the next 20 will go even faster. And unless I'm very lucky, the end will probably be protracted and unpleasant.
I simply don't have the time for belief or faith, even if I had the inclination, and I've learned the futility of knowledge. Right now I'll just settle for experience. You are free to conduct your life any way you want, but as for me, the hand I've been dealt has been a pretty good one, and I've already done everything I needed to do, even if there's still a lot I'd like to do. I simply plan to play out the clock until the game is over.

But if you were, you'd feel the same way.
