Gargonzola.

Frequency is one way we describe oscillatory phenomena. As an astronomer, I was trained to think in terms of wavelength. In those terms, all those coincidences and tautologies you mention go away.

You are talking about tuning and harmonics, a true characteristic of wave phenomena, but it has nothing to do with what Lindy and I were discussing. In fact, the entire concept of frequency in relation to electromagnetic radiation is only a mathematical convenience, we can also fully describe wave phenomena in terms of quanta.

Yes, you can say there are waves in nature, and yes, they can be a useful mathematical shorthand to discuss physical phenomena, but you can't pull your frequency rap and intimidate anyone with any knowledge of physics into unquestionably accepting your vortical distractions.
