I was a loyal employee to Shell for 5 years, but when profits were down, they cut 20% of us employees. On to of that, my department was outsourced. All to look good for the shareholders.
In my field of the IT world, I have noticed many of the Big companies want to hire either contract, or contract to hire. Very few do direct hire.
