That counts as a failure

Interestingly enough, when I was on the phone to my IE6-crippled friend, he described getting much further into the site. It's not so much that IE6 completely lacks some features itself, but that it depends on some external software being installed. Prime example is XML support, guaranteed in IE7 as part of the browser, but available in IE6 only if you've also installed "MSXML", Microsoft's XML software (or rather, some application dragged it in in the course of installing itself). Of course I have it, being a codemonkey, but I have to keep in mind that not everybody in the real world will have it. That's the thing that makes IE6 gnarly, otherwise it's virtually identical to IE7.
