Yeah, I know Mordac, in all his many faces.
I've known some great IT Guys, but quite a few Mordacs too. That kind of work takes a sense of humor, and if you let the "lusers" get to you, you turn into Mordac.
My favorite science fiction author these days is Charles Stross, and he's clearly a genuine professional computer geek. He has series of stories featuring a character who works in a secret occult spy agency, splitting his time between battling supernatural reality excursions that try to get in from other realms in the multiverse, and being his department's IT Guy. The way he talks about the "lusers" is a hoot, and it's a genuine look inside the mind of an IT Guy (non-Mordac subspecies). Highly recommended.
