Picture interface is a bit busy

TB — 12/5/2007 5:17:13 AM (archived)

Maybe it's just me, but when I'm looking at photos or illustrations, I like just a bunch of fixed thumbnails that give me a big photo when I click on one.

Slideshows, scrolling, and other ways for photos to sneak out from under my eyes when I'm not looking just makes things a bit annoying when I'm trying to check things out.

I've noticed this trend on news photo sites, too, with slideshows starting almost at random when I'm trying to look at something.
