Violence is the basis of law - break the law, violence ensues.
Sell an incandescent after such laws are enacted and face fines, jailtime or whatever the state determines is "just" punishment. The illusion that there is no violence is involved in the making of these laws is just that - an illusion. Our society is based on violence.
The threat of "official" violence keeps people from taking your house or property. The threat of the same "official" violence keeps others from being violent to your person or that of your family.
The threat of violence is the basis of ALL laws.
The violence is very real. Break the laws (unless they are immigration laws) and material is taken from you forcibly, and if you do not submit violence ensues.
To pretend otherwise is what the liberals like to do. All these laws just increase the threat of violence in everyone's lives. Not many folks can see through the mists of illusion cast up by the left with their "goodness" - but those who do see just more force and violence. Tom's guess about liberals secretly wishing they could seize the possessions of "the rich" and all those who disagree with them is right on the mark.
The only thing keeping us from these folks owning our lives is our right to bear arms - and now, as unlikely as it seems, the blogosphere.
