"I do have a great deal of humility...but..."

Believe me, you're not coming anywhere close to straining me.

These jerks that you never seem to say a bad word about not only believe that crap but want to enact legislation based on those beliefs that push warped and archaic Biblical bigotry on all of us. Where's your Libertarian brain when that happens. A few bulbs. Crap, get your priorities in order.

Get your own priorities in order. Laws are being passed and treaties signed almost every week, both on a national and international level, that will control my life, property, and wealth "for my own good."

Name some major laws that's been passed during the entire Bush administration that have actually forced you to comply with a particular religious belief. Is abortion legal? Check. Embryonic stem cell research being done all over the country? Check. Terri Schiavo worm food? Check. Religious trapping stripped from every public venue? Check.

As with most of the crap liberals howl about daily, the Great Theocracy is mostly a litany of imaginary things that MIGHT happen. This energy law was actually passed in Congress.

Truth of the matter is that well-functioning societies always have a small group of intellectuals and leaders making decisions for the masses. If those people are made up of scientists and free thinkers those societies seem to end up in better social and economic shape than if those few are militaristic and driven by the greed of giant corporations.

So save me your holier-than-thou finger pointing and for once in your life look at both sides of an issue. Our country uses way more than its share of energy per capita compared to the rest of the world. That's indisputable. Free enterprise and government non-intervention doesn't seem to be bringing that usage down to acceptable and sustainable levels anytime soon enough so it's your greedy compatriots that are forcing action like this. I'd prefer not to be told how to live my life but there's advantages to occasional intervention. That's called balance in an outlook. Try it on sometime.

My main point throughout was that this is all about controlling other people's lives. You're in a hole. Stop digging.
