and it has nothing to do with liberalism. Even when I've leaned in life to the right I was aware of the fact that I was surrounded by a bunch of very slow learners in life. If you want to call that intellectual titanism so be it.
I do have a great deal of humility when it comes to dealing with most folks but on some subjects such as the analysis of human behavior and matters of science and logic, I have a very hard time finding my equal so if you think your little attempts at painting me as some vacuous elite intellectual will work, you're sadly mistaken.
And it's all a bit shallow coming from the likes of you that has stood steadfastly behind an administration that not only believes they know more than the rest of us but also believes their guidance comes from direct communications from some invisible sky fairy. These jerks that you never seem to say a bad word about not only believe that crap but want to enact legislation based on those beliefs that push warped and archaic Biblical bigotry on all of us. Where's your Libertarian brain when that happens. A few bulbs. Crap, get your priorities in order.
Truth of the matter is that well-functioning societies always have a small group of intellectuals and leaders making decisions for the masses. If those people are made up of scientists and free thinkers those societies seem to end up in better social and economic shape than if those few are militaristic and driven by the greed of giant corporations.
So save me your holier-than-thou finger pointing and for once in your life look at both sides of an issue. Our country uses way more than its share of energy per capita compared to the rest of the world. That's indisputable. Free enterprise and government non-intervention doesn't seem to be bringing that usage down to acceptable and sustainable levels anytime soon enough so it's your greedy compatriots that are forcing action like this. I'd prefer not to be told how to live my life but there's advantages to occasional intervention. That's called balance in an outlook. Try it on sometime.
