There's not a lot that would make me happier than seeing indisputable evidence of alien visitation. I would welcome that with wide, joyous arms. (Unless it was some kind of "Independance Day" scenario, then I'd be bummed).
But if it could be convincingly shown that not only is there intelligent life beyond this planet, but that we are actually in contact with it...I think that'd probably be the most amazing, wonderful day that any human being could hope to see.
I actually have a decades-old interest in UFO research, but my experience has brought me to a very different place than has yours, Lindy. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places, that always has to be acknowledged as possible...but the fact that I don't see the "overwhelming evidence" isn't from a lack of trying.
