What's really silly is that because an idea does not fit in with your peculiar cosmology I am suddenly expected to ignore the profound effect I have always known it's had on mine.
I've spent my entire life fighting to get out of your imaginary classes, or struggling to keep from falling back into them. I can't afford the luxury of believing I live in a classless society. I'm reminded every day how easy it is to slip across one of those non-existent boundaries, through no fault of my own, and of the consequences if I do. It's why I get up and go to work every day. And its what keeps me awake at night.
I don't have the arrogance to believe my tenuous prosperity is due solely to my brilliance and my merit; it is primarily dependent on the decisions of men I don't even know, for reasons I can't even imagine.
