What do you have stuffed in your ears? All the Bullshit you have been flinging around on this for 4+ years? I told you that I do not support withdraw. I told you that we are stuck there for at least a decade, if not two. I told you that if we leave, Iraq descends into horrific civil war and genocide. However, because fools like you sailed us into the storm, where abandoning ship is a worse fate than fighting our way through, does not give you the right to stand by the lifeboats and gloat that nobody is trying to board them. It does not mean the course you advocated was right all along.

If you also think we need to stick it out, then what the hell's the point? I could spend all my time here bitching about how we'd be a lot better off financially if Johnson hadn't created Medicare, and sure as hell if people back then had known what it was going to cost now, it would have gotten about twelve votes. It doesn't hurt to point it out now and then to keep us from making future stupid mistakes, and certainly rehashing how the war in Iraq and the aftermath were handled has a similar use there. But at some point it starts to become useless noise.

I'm not going to let you elude the fact that the Democratic Party has spent the last couple of years trying to do just that.

They continued that effort even after it looked like things were working, and frankly, I find that as significant as the liberal reaction to Bush's aircraft carrier landing.
