We're not talking about the "not enough troops for the initial invasion," meme, which is a well-worn classic, and irrelevant to the argument at hand.
You were trying to tell me that the generals were pushing a surge on Bush prior to the election and that Bush and Rumsfeld were shooting it down. This seems to be the hook on which you were hanging your "Democrats responsible for the surge" pantload.
