As I recall, (I only saw the 1st movie, never read the book)the Eloi were sort of wimpy pathetic victims, and I certainly don't see myself that way.

I know conservatives often visualize liberals as sort of fey, cringing, hand-wringing little snits, but I must confess, I stereotype conservatives I've never seen as all resembling Limbaugh, Beck, and Rove: Fat little Himmlers with slicked back hair and spam-colored complexions..

As far as opinions from cons vs libs on homosexuality, I don't see this as a political issue at all. There are many conservative gays, or gay conservatives if you prefer, and most non-gay conservatives do not have an instinctive revulsion towards them. Although I must admit, most rabidly anti-gay people do happen to be conservative.

Now there may be homophobic liberals, but at least they are too ashamed to admit it.

As for my own, personal opinion, I can honestly say I have nothing against gay people, and I do not find them upsetting or threatening.
