There are hard numbers behind much of what I say about schools and costs. I've posted them before. Here are some.
I don't remember much of the 50s. I sure as heck remember 1970.
Government and the vast majority of its programs used to be a hell of a lot smaller, and if they didn't work a hell of a lot better, surely they worked at least as well as now. This is the inescapable fact at the bottom of many current debates.
