Normally I don't care to just point you to a website and have you read someone else's take on something;
but sometimes someone is so right on that I think I could add little to it without just diluting the message.
Joe Klein's essay is nominally about S. Palin, but in reality it is a non-partisan exploration of the political/cultural divide that now splits this country. I say non-partisan but I did not say non-controversial. The article does not take sides politically, but it does venture a reason why we choose political sides.
I think it's a great socio/cultural analysis, particularly for those of us whose ancestors didn't come over on the Mayflower, or who find little in common with those who did.
