I'll Take Melting Pot Over Muticulturalism Anyday
The idea that we take the best from all our immigrants and make a culture everyone else aspires to is much more appealing to me than having everyone stagnate in the culture of their homelands including the bad parts. Being judgemental can obviously be taken too far, but so can tolerance. The world was far too tolerant of Nazi Germany for far too long and the same is true of Darfor today and Ruanda not long ago. While extreme, the reluctance to interfere is a natural outcome of the belief that we should not judge or interefere in other cultures.
