Of course, the slander is half-hearted...

...it's all in fun, and besides, you're not dangerous enough to be really threatening. But when you lose your temper sometimes we get a glimpse of the rage that lies just beneath. Your scared, SDAI, you're terrified of something. Tell Oncle Elisee about it, maybe I can help.

You see, that's the advantage of multiculturalism and diversity, when you know only one species, one civilization, one culture, you tend to imagine everyone else must be just like you. Since they're not, you are condemned to misunderstand and underestimate them, and they will always surprise you, and you will never be able to grasp them because they will always know things about you you don't even know yourself.

We are all different; not better, or worse, just different. But those who don't know this are convinced they must be better. And they will always be condemned to disappointment as a result. America has always been a culturally diverse country because the origins of its people are so diverse. It has never been the monolithic and homogeneous culture it imagines itself to be, it has created this grotesque fantasy because it is ashamed of its own rainbow origins. And now it compounds the error by being nostalgic for its passing.

It is the supreme irony that the most culturally diverse country on earth is in such denial about its own roots. The zeroeth and first generation of immigrants understands this, but their children and grandchildren quickly forget. When you lose the culture and native language of your family's country, you lose half your ability to understand your cultural surroundings. You give up the ability to see in stereo, in three dimensions. I know this in a way you, and Lee, and most of my fellow Americans cannot possibly comprehend. It is the American Tragedy.
