"He's as red-haired as a Spaniard." Meaning modern-day Spaniards and Portuguese are often fair-skinned. Even the Brazilians, who have a high percentage of Negro blood but Portuguese ancestry, are often fair, and their mixed bloods are a stunningly beautiful people, paticularly the ladies. One of the reasons the Conquistadors so overwhelmed the Mesoamerican Indian Kingdoms was their blond and red hair and beards.
I had a relative by marriage who was the leading bagpipe player in Asturias (Jose Remis Ovalle, look him up). Celtic culture is still alive and well in Spain, Portugal, France (especially Brittany) AND the British isles. Sure, some Spaniards and Italians are dark, from the Moorish conquest, but the Mexicans are dark because of their native American blood, not their Spanish blood. My mother's brother had blond hair and blue eyes. My damned half-brother has blond hair, for Chrissakes, as did his totally Cuban father.
Post-Roman Iberia was racially white, as were many of the Romans themselves, and to this day, you can't tell Spaniards from Frenchmen (or even most Germans, for that matter) by just looking at them. Not that it ever mattered to the great civilizations of the Mediterranean, the kind of color bigotry you embrace seems to have originated in Northern Europe. Not that the Nordic races are inferior, mind you, just their cultures.
As for the Mayflower crowd, America's English/German/Dutch heritage was only at the beginning, and they are purely a minority. Most white Americans now are descended from immigration from Europe after the start of the Industrial Revolution, including Slavs, Jews, Italians, Irish, Eastern Europeans etc. All of them, even the Scandinavians, were looked down on when they got here. The one thing every immigrant seemed to learn as soon as he got here was how to hate. Most African Americans have more history in America than most whites. Look at the surnames in any big-city phone book if you don't believe me.
You are a most ignorant and troubled young man. It would be tempting to say you were born that way, that it's in your blood, but I know that kind of stupidity and hatred cannot be inherited. It must be learned.
