That's the first step.

I'm preparing an article for my blog that will discuss the return of the individualist. What folks fail to realize is that this election offers a classic false choice. Pick A! No, Pick B! Not only will neither make a real difference in the lives of Americans, it maliciously conditions them to expect that it should!

Presidents come and go and ideally should have almost nothing to do with John & Jane Q. American and their daily life. They are stewards of foreign policy, heads of state and a figure head in time of war. That's it. The age of the intellectual President is almost a century obsolete.

The media generates revenue for ads. All the hype sells ads and generates revenue. Like the X-mas season beginning in October, the election season beginning a year and a half ago is a preposterous and blatant grab at ad dollars - nothing more.

The economy is not the President's domain. The President has very little to do with it. All that's wrong with the US economy can hardly be placed at the feet of President Bush. At worst, one could accuse him of being fiscally irresponsible and driving down the value of the dollar. But that is still just a fraction of the entire equation.

So after one realizes neither Obama nor McCain are going to ride in on the white steed and rescue you from your problems, what then?

The answer is to look in the mirror at your true salvation.

Then, just like the pioneers of old, and the folks who arrived here with the clothes on their back - you decide YOU are enough and that waiting, hoping or demanding someone else save the nation is not only a waste of time, but a demeaning proposition to your own self-worth and capacity.

You now GET IT ER. Now don't forget it!
